Rachel Chan
Registered Physiotherapist
Rachel is committed to provide the best physiotherapy care to the clients. And she believes strongly in early intervention and prevention, with holistic and lifespan approach. As she realizes most of the problems in adulthood have the root cause from childhood or the past. Rachel has over 23 years of experience working with children in various settings where she have gained extensive experience in working with infants, children and teenagers with different developmental, neuromuscular and orthopedic conditions.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- Has over 23 years of experience working with infants, children and adolescents in various settings, including special school for children with physical disability, Tuen Mun Hospital, early education centre and private settings.
- Worked in paediatric out patient unit of Tuen Mun Hosital for 8 years and had been the deputy from 2003 to 2009.
- Gained valuable experience in managing children with Cerebral Palsy from infant to teenagers, and familiar in physiotherapy management for children who has received procedures such as Botox injection, Rhizotomy and various orthopaedic interventions.
- Worked together with Dr Pauline Watter who is very experienced and renowned in treating children with Developmental Coordination Disorder (DCD), Asperger Syndrome and AD/HD associated with motor problems.
- Being a co-investigator and collaborated with the Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HKPU) to conduct a research for children with DCD.
- Conducted clinical trials for children with DCD with various oral and paper presentations in Hospital Convention, HKPA Annual Conference, Hong Kong Society of Child Neurology and Developmental Paediatrics - Annual Scientific Meeting CNDP.
PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
- An executive member and health promotion group leader of Paediatric Specialty Group, Hong Kong Physiotherapy Association from 2008-2012.
- Visiting Clinical Associate of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, supervise the clinical placement of physiotherapy students from Sichuan University, China (2012).
- Visiting Lecturer of Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Master of Physiotherapy Program in Sichuan University, China (2013).

- Over 11 years of experience working with children in various settings including schools for the physically handicapped and private clinics.
- Worked in Queen Elizabeth Hospital from 2010- 2015.
- In-patient service including working in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), paediatric intensive care unit (PICU), paediatric medical, neurosurgical, surgical, oncology and orthopaedic wards.
- Out-patient setting assisting infants and children with conditions such as cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, hemiplegia, autism, pre-maturity, delayed development, mucopolysaccharidosis, club foot, scoliosis and torticollis.
- Worked together with the Chinese University of Hong Kong to promote sports injury prevention in children and adolescents and carried out research projects.
